We are the largest producer of electricity in our state. We represent 80 percent of Vermont's in-state generation and supply approximately one-third of our state's electricity needs. Vermont Yankee produces electricity without burning large quantities of fossil fuels like coal or natural gas. As a result of this, Vermont has one the lowest carbon footprints of any state in the country.
